Summary Info

Gochonam reed field is the largest colony of reeds from Buhori, Hanameup to Yeongokri, Hwansanmyon in Korea. Rare birds and 98% of spectacled teals spend their winter in this reed field. *The reasons migratory birds visit here ○ This area has a mild temperature and a new lake with abundant food ○ The environment is uncontaminated ○ It is a stopover in birds migrations between China, Japan, Siberia, Alaska, Australia, and New Zealand * Cautions: ○ Do not wear red clothes ○ Do not throw stones, use horns, or fireworks ○ Drive at a low speed. As this is an arrival place for rare winter birds like the white-naped crane, spectacled teals, mallards, pintails, spot-billed ducks, Eurasian wigeon, little grebe and white heron, visitors are increasing and the chance of damaging the birds and their habitat is getting more likely.
