As Bulgap Temple was first by Marananta, an Indian monk, who delivered buddhism to Korea, it is called Bulgap(Bul means Buddha and Gap means first.) Its main hall which is designated as Treasure No. 830, has 3 section in front and 3 sections in sides with hipped and gabled roof. It is decorated with lotus and chrysanthemum design roof-end tiles. It has wooden Four Divas, Treasure No. 1470. Mt. Bulgap embraces Yeonsil Peak like mother's bosoms and is filled with Neolitsea serlcea, Natural Monument No. 112 and reddish magic lilies as a red carpet spreads. Every September Sangsahwa Festival is held, which continues to attract a number of visitors.
