Summary Info

Youngsan Lake is an artificial lake designed to prevent damage by floods at the lower reaches of the Youngsan River. A six lane-road passes over the bank connecting Yeongam to Mokpo. It is a large resort with beautiful scenery which was designated as a national tourist attraction in 1981. This complex has Choi Duk Ji's portrait, original writings of his wishes, Treasure No. 594, Gugosa Temple, a Local Cultural Heritage, and Yeongam Yeorae Standing Buddha. A Farming Museum was opened in October, 1993. In addition, there are some entertainment facilities, an outside swimming pool, docks, an excursion ship service which is available from Oedo, Samho-eup to Migyo, Maewol-ri, and Haksan-myeon.
